Abstract

The article presents a clinical observation of a child with severe, combined bacterial (opportunistic flora-associated) adenoviral intestinal infection characterized by symptoms of intoxication, gastrointestinal manifestations, symptoms of 1st and 2nd degree exicosis (vomiting, lethargy, weakness, dry skin and mucous membranes, soft tissue turgor decrease, tachycardia, a decrease in urine output), with the development of digestion and absorption disorders; laboratory changes in the protein status and electrolyte disorders. Positive treatment result, confirmed by clinical data and laboratory tests, allows to speak confidently about the effectiveness of nutritional support using enteral and parenteral nutrition.
