Abstract

The aim of the study is to describe the experience of applying the associative experiment methodology to identify metaphorical models used when constructing Russia’s image in the Spanish media. Particular attention is paid to the components of the structure of metaphorical models: source domain, target domain, transferred properties, frames. Scientific novelty of the study lies in applying the associative experiment method to verify the selected properties transferred from a source domain to a target domain when constructing Russia’s image in the Spanish-speaking mass media. As a result, the metaphorical models used by Spanish journalists to construct the image of the Russian Federation in the mass media space have been identified and described; the experience of using the associative experiment methodology to verify transferred properties has been described.
