Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify parents and related variable which affect the interaction of play between parents and young children. In order to investigate the mediating effect of creative family environment on the relationship between parents play belief and parents play interaction with young children, 286 mothers who have young children aged 3, 4 and 5 were surveyed. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 21 statistics program, and the mean and standard deviations, frequency, Cronbach’s α reliability, hierarchical multi-regression were carried out. As a result, there was a significant correlation between play interaction and parents play belief and creative family environment. And, creative family environment partially mediated the influence of parents play belief on their play interaction with young children. The results of this study suggested that parents to have positive beliefs about play tend to improve their play interaction with young children through doing creative efforts to raise young children at home.
