Abstract
The article examines the concept of industry potential in the interpretation of various scientists, analyzes the export potential of Tajikistan. The export diversification index of Tajikistan is compared with similar indices of post-Soviet countries. The analysis revealed that in the context of industries on the world market, the products of such sectors of the Tajik economy as metallurgy, light industry, energy engineering, agro-industrial complex are most in demand and competitive. A direct relationship between the volume of foreign direct investment, the volume of exports and the economic growth of the country has been revealed.
