Abstract

The motive and image of silence in M. S. Petrovykh’s lyrics are associated with her poetic worldview, her understanding of creative genius and social reality. “Silence” image is a leitmotif of her poetry, this image develops the lyrical story of the conceptual poem “One Thing I Want to Say to Poets...”, which reveals the author’s conception of creative and everyday behaviour. The paper describes M. Petrovykh’s biographical experience represented in her poetry, analyses the lexico-semantic level of the poems containing the image and motive of silence.
