Abstract

The possibility of repair by re-cladding by explosion welding of continuity defects in the connection of layers that arose in the process of manufacturing bimetallic “steel + titanium” plates by explosion welding has been proven by experiments. The quality of re-cladding in terms of continuity and joint strength in different zones of the slab was comprehensively assessed. Using the magnetic memory method of metals, the level of stress-strain state in the volume of the bimetal was determined. It has been shown that heat treatment according to a given regime relieves stress in the area of re-cladding to the original value. Recommendations are given for repairing continuity defects by re-cladding and the results of the repair are shown.
