Abstract

Statement of the problem. For many years, the problem of drug addiction has been at the center of public attention and has created a demand for scientific research within the framework of this topic. Today, the syndrome of dependence on psychoactive substances is recognized as a disease that affects a person at all levels of life – physical, psychological, social. Creation of an effective system of assistance to drug addicts is a global task involving not only individual scientific disciplines, but also the system of legislation. Given the complexity and multidimensionality of the problem, modern secondary and tertiary prevention measures demonstrate a low percentage of effectiveness. Therefore, the opportunity to increase it even by a few percent is of high value. Some aspects of overcoming addiction have been developed in sufficient detail, for example, medical methods of working with the physiological aspects of addictive behavior. There are developed and structured programs of inpatient rehabilitation published in the relevant clinical guidelines, as well as indicators of their effectiveness. However, there is no common understanding of the further actions required from specialists aimed at helping the patient to consolidate the normative personal status and maintain a stable remission. The article reflects the problems of the modern system of rehabilitation of drug addicts, substantiates the need to develop a post-rehabilitation stage of work with drug addicts. The purpose of the work is to assess the current state of the field of assistance to drug addicts, first of all, at the stage of post-rehabilitation and to outline promising goals for its further development. Methodology (materials and methods). The research methodology is presented by the analysis and synthesis of modern scientific sources and studies devoted to the rehabilitation of drug addicts, as well as private descriptions of the experience of organizing post-rehabilitation care for this category of patients. Research results. Based on the results of the analysis of modern scientific sources, we have proved the necessity of a separate study of the personality of a drug addict at the end of the main activities of the rehabilitation program, in the first place, its value-motivational sphere. The findings open up further prospects for improving the system of drug treatment. Conclusion. The data obtained indicate the need to organize post-rehabilitation support for drug addicts as a promising area for increasing the number of stable remissions. The development of a program of psychological support for drug addicts at the post-rehabilitation stage deserves the greatest attention, since it remains the least studied and structured.
