Abstract

The article analyses the Buryat phraseological units with the component-phytonym with a view to identify their national and cultural specificity. It is shown that these phraseological units differ in their structure and expressiveness. Special attention is paid to their evaluative connotation, which represents social stereotypes and human behavioural models, values, ethical norms, everyday wisdom. Phraseology accumulates valuable and peculiar information about national culture and mentality.
