Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the perceptions toward genetically modified (GM) foods and the full labeling of GM foods, and the factors influencing purchase intention of GM foods. The levels of subjective and objective knowledge of GM foods were not high, and both positive and negative attitudes toward GM foods were above the middle, but scores of negative attitudes were higher than those of positive attitudes. About half of the respondents answered that they heard of GM food labeling, and three-fifths of them responded knowing that GM food labeling was being implemented. In addition, about one-fourth of the respondents heard about the full labeling of GM foods, and all of them agreed to the need for full labeling.
