Abstract

The note deals with the exchange of poetic messages between A. Blok and Vladimir Gippius. This dialogue in verse was published in the Hyperborean magazine in 1912. The polemics ended with the poem by Vl. Gippius „To A. Blok“ («How sweetly you sing…»), written in May 1914. It was never sent to the addressee. The poem was included into Vl. Gippius’s unpublished collection Eclipses of the Stars and is being published for the first time. The note attempts to analyze this message within the ge neral framework of the polemics.
