Abstract

The whole system of education is aimed at activating the speech-cogitative activity of students. To this end, the teacher is looking for different forms of teaching. Within the framework of the personal-activity and communicative approaches in teaching a foreign language, innovative learning models are developed and different types of classes are used to achieve all these learning goals. In this article, we consider the features of one of the principles of learning - situational-thematic. It involves knowledge of lexical and grammatical material, which is grouped around certain topics and situations of communication. The issue raised in the article concerns the situational topic of communication "At the doctor's". It is known that the acquisition of various kinds of knowledge, communicative and speech skills, as well as the formation of personality are the principles that play a significant role in the learning process. The authors of the article tried to show that properly selected textual material, which is of interest to students, makes it possible to fulfill the learning goals set for teachers and students.
