Abstract

The purpose of the study is to identify historical and architectural features of the Ozono-Chepetsky Orphanage founded in the early XX century. This is one of the first orphan’s homes of the so-called rural type in Vyatka Province. The article is novel in that it is the first to analyse historical and architectural features of the orphanage in the course of a comprehensive study and on the basis of published and unpublished sources. As a result of the work, general and specific trends in historical development of the Ozono-Chepetsky Orphanage and in evolution of its architectural appearance were determined.
