Abstract
The aim of the study is to identify productive models for preserving the semantics and structural features of Neil Gaiman’s authorial neologisms when they are translated by translators from English into Russian and German. The scientific novelty of the work lies in a comprehensive study of N. Geiman’s word creation. Moreover, our focus is on the differences of occasionalisms according to the age range of the literary work and the translation solutions chosen in this context. The result shows the dependence of the quantity and quality of the occasional lexical units introduced by the writer and their semantics on the target readership. We highlight the most used techniques for translating neologisms into each target language.
