Abstract
In order to solve the psychological problems of the disabled, change and growth, it is necessary to change from the existing counseling and treatment-centered psychological support to the psychological support based on the convergence of coaching and counseling. In particular, psychological support for the disabled is needed by disabled people with the same type of disability, away from the existing psychological support for the disabled based on a sufficient understanding and empathy for the disabled. In addition, in the current situation where the interest and importance of employment for the disabled are highlighted, coaching and counseling can expand employment and start-up opportunities for the disabled in connection with the training of coaching counseling experts for the disabled. Therefore, in this study aims to consider the current state of psychological support for the disabled in South Korea, the need for psychological support for the disabled based on a convergent approach of coaching and counseling, and to present expected effects. In addition, the study proposes and applies a Q methodology suitable for basic research on the convergent approach of coaching and counseling implemented by the disabled. It is hoped that the results of this study will be used as basic data for research on the perception of psychological support through a convergent approach of coaching and counseling conducted by the disabled and for the development of an educational program to cultivate coaching counseling experts for the disabled.
