Abstract

The research objective includes identifying translation techniques to transfer slang and obscene vocabulary in autobiographical works. The article examines specificity of the autobiographical text translation by the example of autobiography of the British rock singer and musician Ozzy Osbourne “I Am Ozzy” (2010) and its Russian translation conducted by Anna Borisovna Popova (2018). The researcher’s attention is focused on the use of slang and obscene vocabulary as a means to transfer the author’s intention. Scientific originality of the paper involves identifying specificity of translating pop culture figures’ autobiographies. The findings are as follows: the researcher describes translation techniques used by the translator to transfer the author’s individual style.
