Abstract

The article reveals the contribution of public and religious associations to the formulation of the tasks of preschool education from the end of the 19th century to the 1920s in Ukraine. The author analyzes the activities of communities, church, parish and monastic shelters, religious-educational brotherhoods, parish guardianships, and private initiative.The main trends in working with children aged 3-6 years are defined and characterized: outlining the tasks of moral-religious, labor and physical education of children, forming their elementary awareness and value orientations.
