Abstract

The paper analyses innovative experience of children’s musical theatre “Zazerkalie” (“Through the Looking-Glass”) by the example of the performance “Children’s Album”. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that creative activity of A. V. Petrov’s authorial theatre is for the first time examined from the viewpoint of theatre criticism. As a result of the research, it is found out that “Zazerkalie” theatre inherited traditions of conditional theatre of the early XX century. Continuing this tradition, the stage director A. V. Petrov developed a precise model of correlation of music and theatrical action.
