Abstract

The paper presents the results of testing of silumin-based catalysts in CO oxidation reactions. High catalytic activity was shown by both palladium-containing catalysts and catalysts based on base metals. Based on the test data, 2 types of catalytic coatings were synthesized on the pistons of the 1D 4.5/3.5 engine. An effective reduction in the content of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons in the exhaust gases of gasoline two stroke engines was shown. It is shown that the reduction of hydrocarbon emissions can reach up to 41.5%, and carbon monoxide emissions – up to 52.5% when using a modified piston instead of the original one.
