Abstract

This study examined the effects of the Senior Employment and Social Activity Support Programs on successful aging of the elderly, focusing on physical and economic aspects. To this end, this study selected 1,301 cases from the data of the “2020 Elderly Survey” by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs. To summarize the main results based on regression analysis, first, it was found that participation in the Senior Employment and Social Activity Support Programs for the Elderly contributed positively to successful aging in the physical aspect and negative to successful aging in the economic aspect. In addition, in terms of demographic and sociological characteristics, age and religion were found to have significant effects on the successful aging of the physical aspect, and gender, age, and spouse had significant effects on the successful aging of the economic aspect. Based on these results, it delivered implications for the successful aging of the elderly and policy suggestions for the Senior Employment and Social Activity Support Programs for the Elderly.
