Abstract
The quality of the urban environment is one of the most important criteria for the standard of living of the population, and therefore it is necessary to take actions to create the comfort of using the urban environment and each of its components. Increasing the efficiency of the development of such an environment can be realized with the help of modern digital technologies of the “smart city”, which in turn can also provide resource savings and reduce the negative impact on the environment. The study of the urban environment and its components as a link between a person and the city was carried out, the relationship between the urban environment and landscaping was determined, the composition and mechanism of calculating the urban environment quality index were studied. The main characteristics of a smart city and the principles of the development of digital technologies are determined, existing solutions for creating a smart city on the example of St. Petersburg in various directions are investigated: transport, communications, security, healthcare. At the end of the work, the impact of the use of smart digital technologies on the formation of the urban environment and its interaction with citizens was investigated.
