Abstract
In this study, a coating layer was formed on the surface of the phosphor to increase the reliability of the red phosphor, and annealing was performed to improve the moisture barrier performance of the coating layer. The SiO₂ coating film on the surface of the K₂SiF6:Mn4+(KSF) red phosphor was formed by the Sol-Gel method. In order to solve the problem of the rapid drop in the initial quantum efficiency during the heat treatment of the KSF phosphors, various vacuum heat treatment conditions were studied. As a result, the initial quantum efficiency drop was minimized at high vacuum conditions above 10-4 torr. Finally, through the optimized high vacuum annealing, the moisture reliability of the coated KSF phosphor was improved.
