Abstract

The paper presents data comparing the morphology and structural-surface properties of the enterosorbent “Polysorb”, the biologically active additive “Smektit” and a sample of high-purity amorphous silicon dioxide obtained from nepheline concentrate by its sulfuric acid processing. The similarity of the structural and surface characteristics of nepheline silica (Sуд. = 355.11 cm3 / g, dпор = 8.60 nm) and the preparation “Polysorb” (Sуд. = 331.43 cm3 / g, dпор = 9.78 nm), which is also a highly dispersed silica, is shown. Comparative data on these characteristics for the biological active additive “Smektit” are given (Sуд. = 45.30 cm3 / g, dпор = 7.45 nm). From the point of view of structural and surface properties, it is concluded that it is possible to use amorphous silicon dioxide obtained from nepheline as an enterosorbent.
