Abstract
This article discusses in detail tetrasubstituted benzenes of composition C10 and their use in solving geochemical problems.Their genetic relationship with natural aromatic carotenoids inhabiting the anoxic zone was established. On the basisof their thermodynamic state a conditional division of oils by degree of maturity has been offered.
