Abstract

For the first time, the absolute age of volcanic rocks of the Brusilovka volcanic depression has been obtained by employing the LA-ICP-MS-based U-Pb method. The results (~61–56 Ma) are consistent with the timespan of the Paleocene magmatic stage manifested in the Sikhote-Alin and the patterns of their structural localization and spatiotemporal distribution are consistent with left-lateral displacements along the Vostochny and Pribrezhny faults. The nature and characteristics of occurrence of early Paleogene igneous rocks both in the frontal and rear continental marginal parts of the southern Sikhote-Alin can serve as a fundamental basis for paleogeodynamic reconstructions and subsequent metallogenic analysis.
