Abstract

This Based on assessing the current state of rock pressure manifestation in the mining face and development workings, a technique was proposed for multi-stage control of poorly caving roof using directional hydraulic fracturing, which is widely used in the mines of Kuzbass. Longwall face 43K10-V in the Saranskaya mine of ArcelorMittal Temirtau Coal Department was used as an example to discuss a complex approach to addressing the challenges of high stresses within the coal seam, squeezing and guttering up at the stoping face. Application of the technique for rapid multi-stage weakening of poorly caving roof from inside the mining face made it possible to implement the measures and avoid downtime of the mining face. Monitoring of the implemented measures by recording changes in the stress-and-strain state of the rock mass at the test site has demonstrated the efficiency of the applied technology.
