Abstract

An assessment of the possibility of using unmanned aerial vehicles to work in mountainous areas is given. For work in mountainous areas, helicopter-type devices are more suitable, due to the possibility of hovering over a given area. Calculations of the possible flight mass of an unmanned helicopter from the height above sea level have been carried out. The use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the altitude range up to 4000 m above sea level is a rather stringent requirement for the flight performance of helicopter-class vehicles. The most suitable for work in mountainous areas can be considered devices weighing 25 - 150 kg, with a piston or hybrid engine.
