Abstract
The purpose of the study is to identify the problems of the personality of younger schoolchildren in maintaining health in the environment by using the example of the content of the project "Time to act correctly in the field of MSW" as a means of teaching and educating schoolchildren on environmental safety. The article presents modern means of teaching and educating the environmental safety of schoolchildren in a residential institution as a project activity. The appeal to this category of schoolchildren is due to the importance for the formation of the student's personality as environmental literacy, environmental consciousness, responsibility, and the formation of an ecological culture of safe behavior. As a result of the implementation of the project on the basis of the MOE "Sanatorium and Forest School named after V. I. Sharov", priorities were determined in the organization of activities in the training and education of environmental safety, as well as funds and conditions were created for the implementation of key tasks on environmental safety.
