Abstract

A method for improving the accuracy of direction finding of electromagnetic waves with a priori unknown polarization by forming a virtual antenna array based on virtual magnetic dipoles is discussed. To measure the components, vector antenna elements are used, which allow you to measure all the spatial components of the field (x, y, z). Based on the voltages measured in the loads, the characteristics of the electric field were obtained, which, by using the second Maxwell equation in integral form, was converted into a magnetic field, less distorted by nearby scatterers. The obtained results are confirmed by the graphs of the frequency dependences of the bearings, as well as the statistical indicators of the direction finding accuracy.
