Abstract

The article reveals the leading provisions of the pedagogical concept of A.S. Makarenko on educational work with difficult and underachieving students, lays out the conditions that make it possible to form a positive attitude of schoolchildren towards acquiring knowledge, and also provides methodological recommendations for educational work with children and adolescents, tested and successfully confirmed in practice by an outstanding domestic teacher. Familiarity with the scientific experience that underlay his work will certainly be useful for both teachers and organizers of modern Russian school education.
