Abstract

The authors review the routes for chemical utilization of carbon dioxide, which can be used in the oil and chemical industry to reduce CO2 emissions in terms of volumes avoided and the carbon footprint of products at certain stages of the lifecycle -both that have industry-scale applications, and those in the stage of development and pilot testing. Based on this technology review, conclusions are drawn about the prospects of certain technologies within the country for the purposes of decarbonization and sustainable development, and factors relevant to the choice of the direction of green products manufacture using CO2 or other options for its utilization are identified.
