Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to formulate effective strategies for implementing lifelong education programs tailored for individuals with disabilities in Gongju City, specifically focusing on the establishment of a community-based lifelong learning environment. Method: A comprehensive survey targeted 106 guardians and management practitioners who possess experience in lifelong education for people with disabilities in Gongju City. Results: The study underscored the importance of customized lifelong education programs that addressed the diverse levels of disability, characteristics, and needs within this population. Moreover, it advocates for the establishment of an operational system that takes into consideration the requirements of both the people with disabilities and their guardians during the planning and execution phases of lifelong education programs. Conclusion: The study also recommends the incorporation of field experience-oriented programs to directly contribute to the independent living and enhanced social adaptability of learners with disabilities.
