Abstract

The paper aims to reveal ideological meaning of the story “Buzuy” by F. I. Chudakov (1888-1918). Scientific originality of the study is conditioned by the fact that F. I. Chudakov’s story was not previously analyzed from such a perspective. The article examines story architectonics, figurative system, personages’ characteristics, which allows clarifying author’s intention. The findings indicate that author’s intention is realized through the opposition of moral concepts “human” - “inhuman”. This opposition manifests itself through the conflict between the main character and his antagonists; personages are described in terms of opposition “friend - foe”, “human - bestial”; contrast also largely determines story composition.
