Abstract

At the present stage, crimes of an extremist nature with religious motives are becoming increasingly common in the Russian Federation. This phenomenon is due to the rapid spread of extreme religious views and ideologies in Russia. According to statistical data of identified crimes of an extremist nature in the Russian Federation, there is a sharp rise. If 2019 was characterized by a decline of 53.8% in the number of detected crimes, then until August 2020 a sharp increase of 44.1% in the number of detected extremist crimes was recorded.
