Abstract

A brief biography of Vasily IV Shuisky, «the Sovereign, Tsar and Grand Duke of All Russia» is given, his role in suppressing the uprising of Ivan Bolotnikov, preserving the statehood of Russia and restoring law and order in the state is shown. An assessment of his activities in the field of fire protection in Moscow and the state as a whole is given.
