Abstract

The aim of current study is assess the reality of sustainable professional development for teachers, and determine Alternatives of the Professional development of teachers in the light of the National vision 2030 of K.S.A through Suggested Proposal. To achieve the main aim of this study, the literature and previous studies, were analyzed. Also the strategic objectives of the (National Vision 2030) were analyzed, to identify sustainable professional development alternatives in the areas of training, action researches, model lessons, and discussion groups between teachers, supervisors, free reading, workshops, conferences, and some contemporary trends: including international promotion programs, and requirements of the license to practice, in order to identify a list of alternatives to the professional development of teachers.
 The current study depends on the descriptive and analytical approach. The questionnaire was prepared including (40) items related to three dimensions including: the reality of professional development, obstacles, and the degree of importance of professional development alternatives separately, and training needs of teachers in the educational and academic field. The study sample consists of (97) teachers atTabukcity according to many variables (education stage, subjects, and experiences). The main finding is, there are a lot obstacles related to professionaldevelopment. And in the light of the finding, the suggested proposal of alternatives to the professional development is prepared including the elements: principles, aims, content, alternatives and strategy objectives, and strategies, tools for evaluation and follow-up.
