Abstract

This study is aimed at working out the diagnostic tools to reveal the proficiency level of foreign language productive speech of the students in non-language colleges. In the article the indicators of students’ speech assessment are in the focus. These indicators characterize the productivity level of utterances. The scientific novelty of the study consists in the taxonomy of indicators of foreign language productive speech of the students in non-language colleges on the basic and the additional indicators. As a result, the data and analyses of the first-year non-language college students’ utterances on a given language topic in a foreign language have been introduced. The author points out that the special speech skills of students should be developed to solve the problem tasks of speech training.
