Abstract

The article presents the main results of the pilot study devoted to the issues of professional self-determination of student youth in the Arctic region on the example of the Arkhangelsk region. The article characterizes the key aspects of professional self-determination of young people, including the assessment of vocational guidance counseling, determination of the awareness level of the choice of profession, identification of ways to search for places of possible employment, and prospects for professional development in the Arctic region. The direc-tions of improving the research tools are outlined. Proposals to promote professional self-determination of stu-dents in the Arctic region are formulated, including the establishment of guidance counseling work, organiza-tion of psychodiagnostic work, providing opportunities for students to receive additional professional education under advanced training and retraining programs, organization of internships, development of the institute of mentoring, involvement of representatives of the professional community in work with students in various for-mats of interaction.
