Abstract

In the context of the fourth industrial revolution and the current difficult situation in the domestic IT industry, stimulating the development of the “Internet of Things” to achieve breakthrough growth in Russia is an important national task that can be solved using a public-private partnership tool. The purpose of the study is to identify potential areas of application and form proposals for improving public-private partnerships in the implementation of projects based on the Internet of Things technologies. The object of the study are projects to build the “Internet of Things”. During the study, the following methods were applied: induction, deduction, analysis, synthesis, abstraction. Public-private partnerships are used in various areas, but, unfortunately, in the Russian Federation this mechanism has not been widely used in the field of the Internet of Things, which indicates that this model is used inefficiently. This paper analyzes the urgent problem of the development of the Internet of things with the help of the public-private partnership mechanism. As part of this study, the following main conclusions were drawn: public-private partnerships have a large-scale potential for application in the field of the Internet of Things, its effective use in this area requires changes in legislation and development directions, as well as political will.
