Abstract
9호선 연장운행, 김포 골드라인 등과 관련하여 차량 부족으로 인한 도시철도의 혼잡 문제가 사회적인 쟁점이된 바 있다. 도시철도 혼잡을 줄이기 위해서는 근본적으로 철도의 공급 용량을 늘려야 하겠지만, 단기적으로는 대체 수단으로서 버스를 투입하는 것도 하나의 대안이 될 것이다. 이를 위해서는 이용자가 철도와 버스를 선택하는 행태에 대한 기초연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 철도역 OD를 거리대별로 구분하여 도시철도가 버스 대비 경쟁 우위를 가지는 조건을 확인하였다. 이를 위해서 수도권의 도시철도와 버스의 경쟁이 성립될 수 있는 구간을 TRIPS(통행실적 기반 복합대중교통 운영계획수립 지원시스템) 프로그램을 이용하여 기초자료를 추출하였으며, 데이터 정제 후 두 수단 간 이용행태를 분석하는 과정을 거쳤다. 본 연구는 도시철도 혼잡 완화 및 수요 증대를 위해서는 철도역과 버스 정류장 사이의 거리 및 통행거리에 따른 대중교통 이용자의 수단선택 패턴(행태)를 고려하여야 한다는 결론을 도출하였다.
