Abstract

Introduction. Violation of official discipline and legality by employees of internal affairs bodies has various reasons, which are widely studied in the scientific literature. At the same time, the issue of this type of deviation among cadets and trainees of educational organizations is presentedinsufficiently. The article examines the reasons of the discipline violationsby trainees of educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in interaction with their self-esteemlevel.
 The authors investigate the relationship of self-assessment with adaptation to the peculiarities of the educational and service activities of trainees. Based on the work experience of the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the ways and conditions for the formation of an adequate self-assessment of trainees are proposed.
 The purpose of the study is to determine whether there is a relationship between the level of self-esteem of trainees and their violation of discipline and legality and adaptation to official activity.
 Methods.The methodological basis of the study was formed by the scientific ideas about the formation of the trainees’personality in educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and are based on a personalactivity approach and the formation of a unified educational space.
 General scientific methods were usedduring the research, such as analysis of scientific literature, analysis of normative legal acts, comparative analysis, generalization of theory and practice of issues of violation of official discipline and legality by employees, modeling.
 The results of the work and their novelty consist in the fact that the authors, basing on a comparison of the relationship between self-esteem and violations of official discipline by trainees of the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, propose specific methods for the prevention of this type of deviation among cadets and trainees.
 The practical significance of the study is the possibility of using the proposed forms and methods of prevention of violations of official discipline and legality in working with trainees of educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
