Abstract

The article deals with the peculiarities of teaching the Internet generation and analyses the advantages and disadvantages of conducting classic and online lectures in present conditions. It provides the results of the student survey questionnaire on the necessity of implementing innovative technologies into lectures. Special attention is paid to the peculiarities of modern scientific and pedagogical communication. The paper analyses the major aspects of distance learning that functions rather successfully on online platforms Coursera, Prometheus, EdEra and others. Modern education area presupposes the coexistence of traditional academic communication and online communication. The usage diversity of visual teaching aids opens new opportunities for a teacher and a student, but it sets new requirements for lecture preparation in conditions of information society and often creates unexpected communicative situations. Nowadays students are mobile and they want to get the necessary information through classical lectures, live communication, but with the use of modern technologies. The recipients are ready to perceive the information of a new kind, however the teacher should try to keep the student’s attention in different ways, and the easiest one is to get them interested with the help of form and content. A modern lecture should not only demonstrate the learning material in a traditional way, but also support the logic of intrigue from the beginning of the class to its end, provide the information that will be useful in future professional activity. The survey results prove that students weigh up the pros and cons of using presentations and are ready to perceive the learning material with the help of technical teaching aids, though teachers should pay more attention to the creation and usage of qualitative and interesting product to provide the learning activity in a dynamically changeable digital world of media visualization. With the appearance of television, video connection, mobile gadgets, with the help of which it is easy to communicate, theatre, concerts, meetings with friends and relatives still do not disappear institutionally. Technical aids will not substitute for live communication. After all, as history suggests, teachers played an important role in the development of famous and successful personalities of the world.
