Abstract
The development of the Lomonosov diamond deposit is underway on the territory of the Arkhangelsk region. Saponite rocks pollute the environment. The Zolotitsa River ecosystem is under significant anthropogenic pressure due to discharge of drainage water into the river. The study purpose is to assess the impact of the diamond deposit development on the discharge and chemical composition of the Zolotitsa River waters using statistical methods. The main data source for the study was the State Water Cadastre. As a result, the researchers proved no significant changes in the discharge and chemical composition of the Zolotitsa River waters. The only exception is the decrease in the dissolved oxygen content. However, the fact requires further study to identify the true causes of the trend.
