Abstract

This study was to investigate the effects of core stability exercises on balance abilities and stroke function in the Female College Tennis Players. The participants were divided into two groups: Exercise group (n=6) and Control group (n=6). The core stability exercises program for 12 weeks.BR The results of this study were as follows: First, As for the balance abilities, there were significantly increased in UP, Down, Left, Right in the exercise group. And As for the dynamic balance abilities, there were significantly increased in UP, Up/Right, Right, Down/Right, Down, Down/Left, Left, Up/Left, Overall in the exercise group. Second, As for the stroke function, there were significantly increased in speed and Accuracy in the exercise group. As conclusions, this study confirmed that the core stability exercises could improve the Balance abilities and stroke function of Female College Tennis Players. However, there is a need for more specific exercise programs to be developed for the continual improvement of athletic performance in tennis along with further studies to confirm the physiological benefits of those programs.
