Abstract

Institutional support for the processes of functioning and development of the sphere of tourism and recreational services involves the rapid adaptation of both legislative, regulatory acts, and practices of interaction between participants. In this case, it is necessary to consider the results of not only economic but also social development. The study assessed the constituent entities of the Russian Federation by the share of the tourism sector: in providing employment to the region's population, in the number of visitors to regional theaters and museums per 1000 people, in the structure of regional investments in fixed capital, in the gross added value of the region, in the regional structure of tax revenues. The regions were distributed according to the influence of tourism on the socio-economic development of the region. Based on testing of the methodological approach, proposals have been developed to improve the conditions for institutional support for the sphere of tourism and recreational services.
