Abstract

Objective: To apply polymeric composite materials in the process of producing overhead structures and to study its serviceability. Methods: Statistical data analysis of the supporting structures condition underlies the study in question. Results: The total number of supporting structures which were on the balance shit of “Transenergo” – OAO “RZhD” subsidiary was determined. A review of the current and promising directions aimed at the reliability growth of the structures in question was fulfilled. The as- sessment of properties and characteristics of supporting poles made from polymeric composite materials, and produced by means of different technologies, was carried out. Practical importance: The obtained results can be used in the design of new supporting poles for overhead structures, and as theoretical material for university students.
