Abstract
The article is devoted to studying contextual meanings of personal pronouns you (sg) and you (pl) in the Russian, English and Adyghe languages. The paper aims to identify how the Russian translation of personal pronouns you (sg) and you (pl) depends on contextual environment. The originality of the study involves the context-oriented approach to the translation of personal pronouns you (sg) and you (pl). The article presents not only concrete linguistic, but also contextual meanings of personal pronouns you (sg) and you (pl). The authors propose an algorithm for choosing an adequate form of a pronoun when translating it into Russian in a particular communicative situation.
