Abstract
The aim of the study is to determine the semantic, structural and morphological features and functioning of nominal formations with the affix -бэ indicating the location: пурэбэ ‘upper part of something’ and албэ ‘lower part of something’. The scientific novelty is due to the fact that for the first time in the studies of the Yukaghir language, complex formations with the affix -бэ, expressing locative semantics, have been analysed. As a result, it has been revealed that the nominal components пурэбэ ‘upper part of something’ and албэ ‘lower part of something’ convey the semantics of the upper and lower locations of the earth’s space layers, nature and the surrounding world and the localization of the upper and lower parts, positions of items, subjects, objects.
