Abstract

The article presents the results of analysing the grammatical means to express cause in the German and Russian fiction texts of the XVIII century. Using the comparative analysis method, the author describes the structural peculiarities of the field of cause by the material of the German and Russian works of fiction. The findings have allowed the author to conclude that in fiction texts, the field of causality is represented by grammatical means, which manifest different potentials and express the cause proper or the cause with the additional shade of meaning.
