Abstract

The paper examines the influence of Orthodoxy on the education of the inhabitants of the Khakass-Minusinsk region in the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries. Based on archival documents of the funds of churches and Steppe Dumas of the National Archive of the Republic of Khakassia, the general and regional features of the educational activities of the Russian Orthodox Church, the author reveals the educational potential of Orthodox clerics and their role in the development of public education among the Khakass population.
