Abstract
Since its founding in 1971, the Group for Sociology of the Faculty of Philosophy in Niš has organized education for the scientific title Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology. The aim of this paper is to show the development of studies and achieved results, as well as its contribution to the development of the Faculty and Sociology in Serbia. The paper analyzes the organization of studies, student characteristics and thematic orientation of doctoral dissertations.
